Our Junior B footballers played in the clubs 1st ever game in the competition last Friday night. We Defeated Golden Kilfeackle on a scoreline of 2.6 to 1.8. Its a great achievement for the club to field a 2nd football team as ell as 3 adult hurling teams. Unfortunately, owing to a number of players on holiday, we were unable to field a team vs Cashel in intermediate championship. We still have to play Rockwell and Golden in the West Championship.
We play Kickhams in the Crosco Cup at 19.45 this Friday in Clonoulty. We also play Kildangan on Sunday in the Senior hurling league in Clonoulty. All fixtures will be relayed on the club text throughout the week.
We’ve had a busy week of league fixtures. On Wednesday evening last we defeated Gortnahoe in intermediate league. We also defeated Shannon Rovers on a scoreline of 2.26 to 2.14 on Sunday morning.
Our seniors were defeated by Roscrea on Saturday evening by 8 points after a hard fought game.
Our Junior B hurlers will have played Anacarty in league semi final on Tuesday night.
Thanks to everyone again who helped in any way to our hugely successful West’s Awake Festival last Sunday week. This success would never have been achieved without everyone’s support.
All roads leads to Clonoulty next Sunday at the GAA grounds for our 3rd annual festival headlined by Dublin band Hudson Taylor. Our own Rebel Hearts also perform aswell as Wig Wam Glam Band, Papa Zitas and Seskin Lane. Gates open at 12.30pm. We are advising people to purchase tickets in advance due to high demand. The Festival clashes with the Tipperary v Waterford Munster championship game but the game will be shown LIVE on a giant screen at the concert. We are looking forward to welcoming thousands of people from Tipperary and beyond hope that everyone has a great days entertainment again.
There is an important meeting this Friday at 9pm for all volunteers who are looking to help out on the day.
We had a number of fixtures in league hurling at all senior grades in the past week. Our senior hurlers defeated Nenagh on Saturday night on a score line of 3.21 to 2.16. The previous night, we defeated Ballybacon Grange by a single point in intermediate league. On Friday night also, Cappawhite got the better of us in Junior B league. We had beaten Rosegreen last Tuesday after a hard fought tussle in Clonoulty. We are looking good for qualification for the semi finals of the competition
The West’s Awake 2018
This important day in the club’s calender is now upon us again. It takes place on Sunday June 3rd. The committee have been working hard for a number of months organising this huge event for the club. Tickets are on sale in a number of local outlets as well as online. Any volunteer’s help would be greatly appreciated in the lead up to the event and especially on the day where there are jobs for everyone.
If anyone has fold up tables or picnic benches available and would be willing to offer for use on the day, that would be greatly appreciated. These will be returned on Sunday night or Monday at the latest.
Our Junior B’s continued their league campaign with a 2.14 a piece draw with Kickhams on Tuesday last.
We play Ballybacon Grange on Friday night in Goatenbridge in the intermediate league at 7.30.
On Saturday evening we play Nenagh in the senior league at 7.30 in Nenagh.
The first round of the junior hurling championship takes place on Friday week May 25th at 7.45 vs Emly in Dundrum.

Our Junior B hurlers continued their good start to the league with a 3.16 to 1.7 win over Solohead. We are due to play the next round on Arravale this week also.
We drew with Cashel KC on Saturday evening in Anacarty in the Intermediate football county championship on a scoreline of 1.9 to 12 points.
All roads lead to Cappawhite this Sunday for the West Senior hurling championship final v Anacarty. The game throws in at 3pm. Best of luck to the team and management as we look to secure our 9th west title in 11 years.
Our Senior hurlers began our championship campaign with a 6 point win over Mullinahone in Bansha on Sunday last in difficult conditions. The final score was 1.14 to 11 points. The remaining county championship fixtures against Nenagh and Roscrea will not be played until after the inter county season.
In a novel event for April, we will contest the West Senior Championship Final against Eire Og on Sunday week April 29th in Cappawhite at 3.30.
Our Junior B hurlers got their year underway with a 2.17 to 1.12 win over Sean Treacys in the league last Friday in Clonoulty. We are due to play Solohead this coming Tuesday.

Dog fouling: there have been repeated incidents of dog fouling on our
grounds. This is a very serious issue with children using our
facilities. There is strictly no dogs allowed on the grass. Also, the
dog warden has been notified in relation to stray dogs. If these
problem persists, we will be left with no option but to ban dogs
