County Hurling Championship We were defeated by Borrisileigh in the first round of the County group stage. After a big fightback in the second half we eventually fell to a 1.18 to 1.15 defeat. We still have to play Moycarkey Borris and Toomevara. Two wins will now likely be required to qualify from the group. The next round is unlikely to be played until August at the earliest. Junior Hurling The first round of the junior championship did not go ahead as scheduled on Sunday vs Arravale Rovers. We await the next fixture which will likely be in the coming weeks. West hurling league for Junior B and minor are both underway. Membership Thanks to all who cooperated in paying up in a timely manner. West’s Awake Festival 2019 Preparation is very much underway for the 4th annual West’s Awake. We have a very exciting line-up again this year. Local Stars The 2 Johnnies and The Blizzards will headline the event this year. We also have our very own Rebel Hearts as well as The Papa Zitas and exciting up and coming Thurles band Strings and Things. Tickets will be on sale very soon. The date for the diary is June 2nd.
Senior Hurling We began our championship campaign on Sunday last in Dundrum against Cashel. After a tight 1st half we eventually ran out comfortable winners on a scoreline of 1.27 to 16 points. Next Sunday brings a big game again as we begin the defence of the Dan Breen Cup. We travel the short distance to Holycross to face Borrisileigh in the 1st round of the County group stage. There is deferred coverage of the game on TG4 on Sunday evening. Weekend Pass Tipperary will host 22 county championship games next weekend. For €15 you can attend as many games as you wish id you avail of the weekend package. This package can be purchased from gate checkers at all games on Saturday and from Lar na Pairce all this week up until 5.30pm on Saturday. Junior A Hurling We play Arravale Rovers on Sunday evening at 6pm in Golden in the first round of the West Junior A Championship. West’s Awake Music Festival 2019 Preparations are underway for the annual West’s Awake. It will take place on Sunday June 2nd. The 2 Johnnies, The Blizzards and Rebel Hearts will headline the event. The committee would appreciate the support of club members and locals again over the next 2 months with a big workload in store to organise such a large event. P.R.O.
Senior Hurling League We played 2 games in the last few weeks, both ending in defeat. On Friday March 15th, Anacarty won by 15 points to 14 in difficult conditions. Nenagh travelled to Clonoulty last Friday night and came away with a 12 point win. West Senior Hurling Championship We begin the defence of our West Championship on Sunday next when we meet Cashel at 3pm in Dundrum. The first round of the County Championship takes place the following week vs Borrisileigh.
There was a number of changes to fixtures in the last week. We were defeated by Sean Treacys in intermediate league on Sunday in Kilcommon. Senior hurling league vs Nenagh and Minor football vs Aherlow were both due to be played last night. County senior hurling league vs Anacarty on Friday night March 15th at 8pm in Clonoulty. We were beaten by Cappawhite last Wednesday on a scoreline of 3.5 to 2.5. We were due to play Aherlow on Sunday but the game was postponed due to the inclement weather. We await confirmation of the re-fixture.
We play Nenagh in the first round of the league in Clonoulty this coming Friday at 8pm.
We also play Sean Treacys at 12 noon on Sunday in Intermediate league in Kilcommon.

We came up against a strong Arravale Rovers team in our bid to retain the west u21 football crown on Sunday in Bansha. We got to within 1 point of our opponents in the 2nd half but Arravale finished very strongly and won out on a scoreline of 14 points to 7. Well done to all the players and thanks to Declan, Andrew and Willie for doing such a fine job in managing the side.
Despite the CCC announcing that all club games fixed for weekend of March 31st were off at the request of Liam Sheedy, the West Board have announced that our West Championship match vs Cashel will go ahead as scheduled. It remains to be seen if this will be the case or not. County Championship vs Borrisileigh is fixed for April 7th.
Cashel beat us on a scoreline of 1.10 to 7 points in the final group game of the West Championship. The result leaves us in 3rd place and we now play Cashel again in the semi final next weekend. Arravale Rovers await the winners in the final.

Clonoulty Rossmore have been drawn as second seeds in a group containing Toomevara, Borrisileigh and Burgess. C/R have been drawn against Cashel in the West Championship. Fixtures have yet to be confirmed.
We drew with Arravale Rovers on a scoreline of 8 points apiece in the latest round of the round robin. We play again next Sunday.
Registration takes place on Friday in the pavillon at 7pm.
Our defence of the West A football title got off to a great start with a good 2.11 to 7 points win over Galtee Rovers in Bansha. We will play our next group game on Sunday next at 12pm also. Fixtures will be relayed on club text.
AGM / Registration Night
The Adjourned AGM will take place on Friday February 1st at 8pm. Registration night the following Friday at 7pm.

After unprecedented success in 2018, the clubs first match of 2019 takes place this coming Sunday. Just 6 weeks after our first ever u21 A hurling success, we play Galtee Rovers in the A football championship in Bansha at 12 noon.
