Our Junior B hurlers unfortunately exited the championship last Friday night in Tipperary. We were defeated by Solohead on a scoreline of 1.19 to 3.12. We failed to advance due to our head to head record vs Solohead. This was a very disappointing end to a good year. Thanks to John Heffernan, Liam Kearney, Seamus Dwyer, John Barry and all the players for a huge effort all year.
We were defeated by Boherlahan last Wednesday in the intermediate league semi final in Clonoulty by 6 points. We now await the winners of Rockwell v Emly in the final of the West Junior Championship. The final is provisionally booked for August 18th.

Our Junior hurlers beat Rockwell Rovers 4.20 to 6 point son Saturday night in Dundrum. We had already qualified for the West Final. We will play Rockwell again or Emly in the coming weeks. We play Boherlahan in the intermediate league semi final on Wednesday night in Clonoulty at 8pm.
Our minor hurlers had a good win over Lattin Aherlow last Wednesday evening. The final score was 4.15 to 1.07. We will play Rockwell Rosegreen in the West semi final. This game has yet to be fixed.
We defeated Cashel in the Crosco Cup final On Wednesday last on a scoreline of 3.27 to 1.17. Our minors had a very convincing 3.17 to 6 points win over Emly Treacys in Kilcommon on Tuesday. We play Lattin Aherlow on Wednesday on 7.30 in Clonoulty.
We beat Rockwell by 1.19 to 1.5 in Junior B Football on Friday night.
We also play Rockwell in Junior A hurling on Saturday evening next. All fixtures to be confirmed on club text.
Commiserations to Dillon Quirke, Jimmy Con and TJ Rody (selector) who were involved with the Tipperary u21 hurling panel when we were defeated by a strong Cork performance last Wednesday. Tipp still advance to the All Ireland semi final where we play Galway.
We beat Galtee Rovers in Bansha on Saturday evening in sweltering conditions in intermediate league. We have now qualified for the semi finals. We also play Kildangan in the last round of games next Sunday.
Our minors hurlers were due to get their campaign underway last night in Kilcommon v Emly/Treacys.
We play Cashel in the Crosco Cup Final tonight, Wednesday July 11th at 8pm in Dundrum.

It was a busy weekend of fixtures. On Friday night we had an easy 2.22 to 1.12 win over Kickhams in the Crosco Cup. We now play Arravale Rovers in the semi final on Wednesday at 7.45 in Tipp Town.
On Sunday, our Junior B hurlers has an excellent win over Rosegreen in championship. The final score was 1.21 to 2.7.
On Sunday also, Kildangan beat us in senior league in Clonoulty by 2 points. 1.13 to 2.8. That concludes our involvement in the senior league.
Our Junior A hurling team will play Emly in championship on Friday night in Anacarty at 7.45.
Our Junior B footballers played in the clubs 1st ever game in the competition last Friday night. We Defeated Golden Kilfeackle on a scoreline of 2.6 to 1.8. Its a great achievement for the club to field a 2nd football team as ell as 3 adult hurling teams. Unfortunately, owing to a number of players on holiday, we were unable to field a team vs Cashel in intermediate championship. We still have to play Rockwell and Golden in the West Championship.
We play Kickhams in the Crosco Cup at 19.45 this Friday in Clonoulty. We also play Kildangan on Sunday in the Senior hurling league in Clonoulty. All fixtures will be relayed on the club text throughout the week.
We’ve had a busy week of league fixtures. On Wednesday evening last we defeated Gortnahoe in intermediate league. We also defeated Shannon Rovers on a scoreline of 2.26 to 2.14 on Sunday morning.
Our seniors were defeated by Roscrea on Saturday evening by 8 points after a hard fought game.
Our Junior B hurlers will have played Anacarty in league semi final on Tuesday night.
Thanks to everyone again who helped in any way to our hugely successful West’s Awake Festival last Sunday week. This success would never have been achieved without everyone’s support.
All roads leads to Clonoulty next Sunday at the GAA grounds for our 3rd annual festival headlined by Dublin band Hudson Taylor. Our own Rebel Hearts also perform aswell as Wig Wam Glam Band, Papa Zitas and Seskin Lane. Gates open at 12.30pm. We are advising people to purchase tickets in advance due to high demand. The Festival clashes with the Tipperary v Waterford Munster championship game but the game will be shown LIVE on a giant screen at the concert. We are looking forward to welcoming thousands of people from Tipperary and beyond hope that everyone has a great days entertainment again.
There is an important meeting this Friday at 9pm for all volunteers who are looking to help out on the day.
We had a number of fixtures in league hurling at all senior grades in the past week. Our senior hurlers defeated Nenagh on Saturday night on a score line of 3.21 to 2.16. The previous night, we defeated Ballybacon Grange by a single point in intermediate league. On Friday night also, Cappawhite got the better of us in Junior B league. We had beaten Rosegreen last Tuesday after a hard fought tussle in Clonoulty. We are looking good for qualification for the semi finals of the competition
The West’s Awake 2018
This important day in the club’s calender is now upon us again. It takes place on Sunday June 3rd. The committee have been working hard for a number of months organising this huge event for the club. Tickets are on sale in a number of local outlets as well as online. Any volunteer’s help would be greatly appreciated in the lead up to the event and especially on the day where there are jobs for everyone.
If anyone has fold up tables or picnic benches available and would be willing to offer for use on the day, that would be greatly appreciated. These will be returned on Sunday night or Monday at the latest.
Our Junior B’s continued their league campaign with a 2.14 a piece draw with Kickhams on Tuesday last.
We play Ballybacon Grange on Friday night in Goatenbridge in the intermediate league at 7.30.
On Saturday evening we play Nenagh in the senior league at 7.30 in Nenagh.
The first round of the junior hurling championship takes place on Friday week May 25th at 7.45 vs Emly in Dundrum.
