All Roads lead to Thurles on Sunday

Our proud club will look to secure our 4th ever County SHC trophy on Sunday next when we face Nenagh Eire Og on Tipperary club hurling’s biggest stage. Best of luck to captain John O’Keefe and his team, and the management of John Devane, Jason Forrester, Paddy Bourke and Andy O’Connor. The game throws in at 3.30pm and will be preceded by the Seamus O’Riain Final.

Our Junior A hurlers look like they will also be out in the coming weekend after coming back from the dead to secure an epic 3.20 to 4.17 draw after extra time with near neighbours Boherlahan in Dundrum on Sunday. It’s surely a unique and positive complaint to have two huge games for the club within 24 hours this weekend, with 40+ adult players still competing for major honours at the business end of the championship season. The replay is down for decision on Saturday at 2.30 in Dundrum.

Commiserations to our Senior Camogie team who went down battling to an exceptional Burgess Duharra outfit who secured their seventh title in a row last Saturday. We have a young team and they are sure to have more opportunities in the future.

We hosted the County Minor A hurling final on Saturday evening last in Clonoulty at short notice. In miserable conditions, Moycarkey edged out Cappawhite. Thanks to anyone that helped ready the venue for the teams and huge crowd in attendance.

Seniors advance to County Final

We qualified for our first County Senior final since 2011 with a hard fought win over Toomevara on Sunday in Thurles. After a good performance, we won on a scoreline of 19 points to 1.10. We now play Nenagh on Sunday week October 21st. A county final training fund has been set up. All donations greatly appreciated. The big games continue next weekend. On Saturday, our Camogie girls contest the club’s first ever County Senior Final. The game throws in at 2pm in the Ragg Camogie grounds where we will meet Burgess Duharra. Its a fantastic achievement for the parish to have both senior teams in County Finals. Best of luck to the girls on Saturday.

We play Boherlahan Dualla on Sunday in the County Junior A semi final at 1.45 in Dundrum. Support for all games greatly appreciated.

Weekly News

It was a hectic but very successful weekend of games. It started off with the Junior A’s playing St. Patricks in the County 1/4 Final in Cahir on Saturday. After an epic game, we came out on top after extra time. The game finished 2.22 to 3.16. We have drawn Boherlahan in the semi final in what is a unique local derby. The game is likely to be played the weekend of October 13/14.

The seniors followed this up on Sunday with a hugely important 4 point win over a fancied Kildangan in Dolla on Sunday. After a physical game, we deservedly prevailed on a scoreline of 1.19 to 1.15. Well done to all involved in what was a huge panel effort. We now play Toomevara in the County Semi Final next Sunday at 2pm in Thurles. Best wishes and speedy recovery to Shaun Coffey and Paddy Hennessy who have recently picked up injuries in training and matches.

To cap a great weekend, our camogie girls qualified for the club’s first ever Senior camogie final after an excellent win over Drom & Inch on Saturday. The final vs Burgess/Duharra is likely to be the weekend of October 13/14 also.

County Quarter Finals Weekend

Our Junior B footballers were defeated by Solohead on Sunday in the West Final in Golden. Unfortunately, we couldn’t fulfil the fixture in the Intermediate football quarter final on Saturday vs Grangemockler.

A hugely important weekend lies in store for the Parish’s hurlers. On Saturday, we play St. Patrick’s Drangan in the Junior A County 1/4 final in Cahir at 2.30pm. On Sunday, we travel north to Dolla to face Kildangan in the last 8 of the Senior championship. This game throws in at 2pm. Best of luck to all players and management.

Weekly News

We beat Galtee Rovers in the Junior B west semi final after extra time in New Inn last Friday night by a single point. Final Score: 2.9 to 1.11. We now play Solohead in Golden on Sunday September 23rd at 1.15 pm.

Our u21s won well against Emly Treacys in the 1st round of the West Championship.

We are awaiting confirmation of possible fixtures for intermediate football 1/4 final and Senior hurling 1/4 final / preliminary 1/4 final.

Weekly News

It was a busy week of fixtures. The u21 hurling match v Emly Treacys did not go ahead as scheduled last week. It will have been played on Tuesday the 11th.

Our minor hurlers defeated Eire Og 1.18 to 1.11 in the West hurling shield final.

Our intermediate footballers were beaten 1.09 to 8 points on Saturday. We have still qualified for the quarter finals of the county championship.

Our Junior B footballers drew with Solohead on Sunday in Dundrum. We now play a west semi final in New Inn at 8pm on Friday September 14th vs either Eire Og or Galtee Rovers.

There are no fixtures yet for the senior and junior county knockout games. They are likely to be the last weekend in September.

Weekly News

Our seniors had a good win over Roscrea on Sunday in Dolla in the final round of the County championship group stage. In the end, we ran out easy winners on a scoreline of 1.22 to 2.8. We now advance to the quarter final. Its uncertain when this will take place. but it likely to be either the last week in September or early October.

Our Minor hurlers defeated Lattin Aherlow in the shield semi final last week by 3.17 to 2.10. We play Anacarty in the final on Thursday in Clonoulty at 8pm.

Our 21s were scheduled to play Treacys/Emly on Tuesday in the west u21 championship.

Intermediate football championship v Borrisokane in The Ragg at 3pm on Saturday. There is also Junior B football vs Solohead on Sunday at 12 in Dundrum.

It was a very proud evening for the club on Sunday last in the Gaelic Grounds as Tipperary were crowned All Ireland U21 Champions. Huge congratulations to Dillon Quirke, Jimmy Con and TJ Rody (selector). We are always very proud of our club representatives on Tipperary teams.

The club championship resumes this weekend. We play Roscrea in the final county championship group game at 1.30 pm on Sunday in Roscrea. A win would see us qualify for the county championship knockout phase.

There may be a minor hurling shield fixture this week with a possible shield final at the weekend. Keep an eye out for fixtures on club texts.

We play Emly in the Junior A West Final on Friday night at 7pm in Cashel.

Best of luck to Dillon Quirke, Jimmy Con and TJ Rody (Selector) in the All Ireland U21 Final on Sunday vs Cork. The game throws in at 5.30pm in The Gaelic Grounds in Limerick. It is always great for the club to have representation on Tipperary teams.

Our Junior B footballers were defeated by Eire Og on a score line of 2.8 to 1.8 on Saturday in the group stages of the West championship.

Our Junior B hurlers unfortunately exited the championship last Friday night in Tipperary. We were defeated by Solohead on a scoreline of 1.19 to 3.12. We failed to advance due to our head to head record vs Solohead. This was a very disappointing end to a good year. Thanks to John Heffernan, Liam Kearney, Seamus Dwyer, John Barry and all the players for a huge effort all year.

We were defeated by Boherlahan last Wednesday in the intermediate league semi final in Clonoulty by 6 points. We now await the winners of Rockwell v Emly in the final of the West Junior Championship. The final is provisionally booked for August 18th.
