West Senior Hurling Championship Semi Final

Tipperary CO-OP Supervalu West Hurling Championship Semi Final

Clonoulty-Rossmore 2-18 Knockavilla Kickhams 1-08

Our Seniors have qualified for the West Hurling Final after they beat Kickhams on Sunday evening last in Leahy Park Cashel. They will play Eire Og Annacarty in a repeat of last years final after they defeated Cappawhite on Saturday evening.
The game started slow with both teams having wayward shots on goal. Kickhams started off the scoring in the 8th minute with a point. Clonoulty responded with their first point from Sean Maher in the 10th minute. That started a good ten minute spell from Clonoulty with 1-05 without response. Timmy Hammersley getting the goal in the 19th minute after some great work from Sean Maher laying it onto Timmy who finished it well. It was the 21st minute before Kickhams registered their second score. The half ended with both teams trading points. The score at the end of the first half was Clonoulty 1-11 to Kickhams 0-05.

The second half started with a bang with Aidan White scoring Clonoulty’s second goal after a minute, breaking onto a ball and running through from the half forward line to bury it into the roof of the net. Clonoulty drove on from there getting six points in the next 12 minutes with scores coming from John O Neill (3), Fiachra O Keeffe (1), Timmy Hammersley (F) and Paudi White (1). Clonoulty then slowed only getting one more point while Kickhams chased goals to get back into the match. Kickhams got one goal back in the 40th minute but were unable to find the net again with Clonoulty’s defence keeping them to just 2 points for the rest of the half.
Preparations now turn to the West Final which looks like will take place on Sunday 14th September.
